"Joseph's Magic Albatross"
A stricken sea-bird,
lost treasure, confidence regained but,...
where is the money-beach?
Now featured in jonzflicks
movie : See link at bottom of this page
I wrote this story as an antidote
to Spirit of the Stones. It is based on facts which were handed
down to me by my mother who lived with her grandfather in the
fishing cove when she was a little girl. The narrative is easy
and can be enjoyed by all ages who dream of that lost seaside
of yesteryear.
The character 'Joseph', was based on my great grandfather and
my grandfather who actually saved the sea bird. and, ... 'The
Money Beach' of the story really does exist but those who know
its location, keep very quiet. However, there is another other
money beach which is within the grasp of us all!
See my painting of Old Joe in his boat
with the "Magic Albatross"

This is my grandfather with
his "Albatross???"
You must read the story to understand. The photo
and an account of Joseph's deed was printed in a leading national
newspaper of the time.
Below are others
of my distant family who feature in the story but some of
these pics are later in their lives

These are pics of my Great Grandfather Charles Blake and his
wife Sarah of Steephill Cove. The pic right is:- Ede, my mum Mabel
and
my GGM Sarah in front of Genevra, the cottage at Steephill Cove.

These are pics of:- Left: my Aunt Ede and Right: Mum, me and
Dad
SINCE PUBLICATION SOME
INTERESTING ITEMS HAVE COME TO LIGHT:- An old postcard with a
press cutting, and letter from a reader who remembers the Albatross.
